Like a Quilt

Such a daunting task – to put my thoughts and emotions about you into a letter. My mind has been swirling with all of the pieces of you that have just become part of me that I want to highlight. So many analogies to liken them to but the one I keep coming back to are beautiful pieces of fabric. These rich fabric swatches have been collected through the years with every interaction we have. From dancing my recital routines on your dining room table in Clayton to bringing home my sweet Bentley – you have been there. Now as I attempt to lay those pieces out into a pattern and watch the thread of who you are bring it together into a beautiful quilt I am just overwhelmed.
The funny thing about this analogy is that you so generously gifted me your top of the line sewing machine which I never would have purchased on my own. With this machine, I have found my love and passion for sewing quilts to bless those that have so richly poured into my life. This photo is the one I made for you, swatches hand picked because they make me think of you, and sewn together with such love and gratitude.
Every time I sit in my sewing room I thank God for you and pray that I can leave that type of rich residue on others throughout my lifetime. I love you more than you could ever comprehend my Lovie.
