Hello Pam,
Well, I am sure Brad is nearby so hello Brad as well.
The idea of a soulmate seems foolish to think of for so many people these days but I am lucky to have a soulmate. This weekend, you and Brad came to mind as my wife and I were out on a walk. We were laughing uncontrollably about something so insignificant that we just looked at each other and continued to laugh at the absurdity of our lives. We love each other and we like each other.
A lot.
It was then that I once again described the relationship that I saw between you and Brad that week so long ago on a boat in New England. I explained the way you described the love for the entire family that seemed to permeate from the love that your marriage had created. Your depiction of family and faith and trust and bonds was infectious. Very few people have ever made me as emotional as you did. Pam, your energy made me happy to be alive and it made me realize, even more than I already did, how lucky I am to have a soulmate.
Brad and I share a text message here and there, and I feel so connected to the both of you in a way that is hard to describe. Somehow, your infectious energy has stayed with me.
So, thank you. Thank you for giving me a glimpse of what life looks like when you allow love to dictate the way. We all need to be reminded that our fairy tale lives can, in fact, be real.
I have been living that fairy tale for about 30 years, well short of your 52 years, but we hope to get there and we will appreciate all of the moments until then.
I hope your infectious smile and warmth continue touching those around you. These days, I try to channel you and Brad when I talk to younger couples. You can fall in love with your soulmate, and it can last a lifetime.
The ride is amazing.
Okay, I am done rambling about the mushy stuff.
I hope you have a great Christmas with your family.
Zeke
