From a Daughter at Heart

I don’t recall how I came by that first invitation to Keiths court, but it changed the course of my life forever. From that first bonfire, to my first taste of the Hill, you opened my eyes to a world I had never imagined, including the woman I could become. Later would be teaching me what it meant to let people grieve as we buried Ariel, dogs running through Christmas trees and two-for one visits during two particularly hard seasons, our ongoing infertility journey, uncountable hugs and back rubs, and the best advice one could ever give a perfectionist, “Cut yourself some slack,” which still makes me smile. The list of life-ministering moments and memories of you go hand in hand. The years and distance grew long, but you have always been a mothering voice to me, and for that I am ever grateful. Your gifts, they linger. Thank you for creating space for me at your table. I love you!
